Da musste ich ein ums andere mal nochmal umdenken bis ich zu meinem Sound gekommen bin. Sequencer, Arpeggiator, Komplexe Hüllkurven, dazu noch voll flexibles verknüpfen aller Parameter durch Controller, dazu noch alternative Skalen auf dem Keyboard und dann sind noch keine Effekte eingestellt. Und entscheidend ist ja letztendlich was am Audio out anliegt.ĭie Features sind komplett und das macht ihn etwas anspruchsvoller als eine normale EDM-Tröte mit 2000+ Presets.
Auch nach 10 Jahren hat das Plugin seine Daseinsberechtigung! Er kommt optisch ein bisschen bieder daher, die Oberfläche kann aber getweaked werden. Ich habe jetzt 2 Wochen mit dem U-HE Zebra verbracht und setze ihn immer mehr ein. Pros: Excellent sound quality, incredibly versatile, great way to learn synthesis for newcomers, many fantastic 3rd party presets available, the Dark Zebra expansion adds a whole new palette of sounds and presets, great tutorial videos available from u-he.ĭieses Plugin gibt es nun schon seit 2007 - also nun 10 Jahre. Some of the more complex sounds can hammer the CPU quite hard but most reasonable spec systems will cope just fine with the vast majority of sounds you'll want to create/use. There are perhaps fewer presets included than many other synths but they are all usable and a great study tool to learn which settings can mould/produce certain sounds. The interface is a little daunting on first viewing but it's actually much simpler than it appears and surprisingly easy to get to get to grips with. I'm very much an amateur but the fact that Zebra2 features so heavily on the soundtracks of Hans Zimmer, amongst others, should be testament enough to its excellence. An extremely versatile synth which is capable of handling any genre well but is especially suited to cinematic/scoring work.
